Shakespeare at Large

Shakespeare, Do You Have My Son's Missing Lunchbox?

Check out the "Lost and Found" sign at my kids' school:

"What is lost may sometimes be found . . . "

Sounds like an excerpt from the The Winter's Tale, doesn't it? King Leontes is told that he "shall live without an heir, if that which is lost be not found," meaning that he needs to find the infant daughter he banished ASAP.

Like the "Lost and Found" says, sometimes these things do turn up. Leontes' daughter does. But not my son's lunchbox, unfortunately. I'm glad that someone has captured the gravitas of this situation.
