Shakespeare at Large
Question: Who's got my miracle ticket?
Answer: I do! I do!
That would be a ticket to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part One) on November 19, its opening day!
I recently came across this Snape-a-licious clip of a sonnet "battle" between Alan Rickman (Snape) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry). "Harry vs. Snape: Youth vs. Age."
The actors each recite Shakespeare's Sonnet #130 ("My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun . . .") as we watch a slideshow of cool pics from their acting gigs.
I'm so excited for November 19th!!!!
And my kids are all set to go, too! I've prepped them for the movie's "brief sexuality, sequences of intense action violence, and frightening images" by recommending that they either shut their eyes or just suck it up.

Rickman gets my vote - I mean, that voice! (Also, I can never look at DR now without remembering his amazing bit opposite Diana Rigg on "Extras.") Anyway, I admit to being VERY excited about the HP movie. I took my kids out of school to see the first one, and remain the most childishly stoked member of my family lo, these ten years later. Accio movie tickets!
