An Op-Ed by Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt
It's not easy balancing my busy life as Pharaoh and mom to a passel of world leaders' illegitimate children. I'm so busy I'm actually not sure how many kids I have, but I think it's four, maybe five. I think my eunuch-nannies told me four. Really, who cares? My point is that I'm royally pissed off at all the media focus on Hilary Rosen this week after she stated on CNN that stay-at-home-mom Ann Romney "actually never worked a day in her life."
We all know how hard motherhood is. At least, that's what my slave women tell me. And I'm sure Hilary Rosen didn't mean to say that Romney doesn't work. Unfortunately, we can't all have my gift of a silver tongue. There's no need to jump on this low-browed woman and turn her comments into one of those tedious "career women" vs. "stay-at-home-moms" fights.
Don't we all have enough on our gold platters?
