No Compelling Head Display? Obama's Missed Opportunity

Re: “Obama Says He Won’t Release Photos of Bin Laden’s Corpse" (column, May. 4):

I was more than a little concerned about Obama's decision not to release images of Osama Bin Laden's corpse. His reasoning: "[W]e don’t trot out this stuff as trophies.” Really? Well, I think that's lame.

During my reign as Queen of England, I regularly posted the heads of treasonous Catholics around London, and I never received a single complaint. If anything, the people of my country were effusive in their praise. Young boys thought it was "cool," parents expressed gratitude for the "clear lesson" it taught their children, and local artists declared the installations to be "aesthetically commanding."

The President attaches a negative connotation to the word "trophy." Perhaps we should also consider it patriotic bling, ready to be flashed?
