Need a recommendation for a tear-jerker that involves sports and Shakespeare? Of course you do.
My husband and I recently enjoyed The Guru of Go, a documentary about former Loyola Marymount men's basketball coach and Shakespeare teacher Paul Westhead that's part of ESPN's 30 for 30 film series.
Prepare for Shakespeare quotations interspersed with footage of Kareem, Magic--and, heartwrenchingly, of Hank Gathers, the young star who died on Westhead's watch.
Goes well with tissues, popcorn, and beer.
