Magic Shake-Ball
Dear Magic Shake-Ball:
I'm worried that I'm addicted to Craigslist. I've been spending all of my free time in search of furniture that I don't actually need. Is it possible to be addicted to Craigslist and, if so, how do I get help?
Best, Michelle
P.S. Do you by any chance have a gently-used oak dresser?
Magic Shake-Ball's Answer:
"Yet they are not join'd: where yond pine
does stand,
I shall discover all: I'll bring thee word
Straight, how 'tis like to go." (Antony and Cleopatra 4.12.2-5)
Interpretation:
So, yes you do have a dresser, but it's pine and not oak? That's fine. What I'm really interested in is finding a black rolltop desk and a bike rack. Either of those would be great.
Magic Shake-Ball:
"Could she here deny
The story that is printed in her blood?" (Much Ado About Nothing 4.1.121-2)
Interpretation:
Sure, that color printer and Ikea computer desk sound perfect. I've been wanting those things for a long time. And that's a totally fair price.
I'm assuming that this is cash and carry. Do you think that you could help my husband get the desk into our hatchback?

If you reread that A&C quote carefully, I think you'll find that not only is it pine, you'll have to assemble it yourself!
