Homebaked Shakespeare

More Camp Letters From Shakespeare's Characters

Dear Daddy:

How are things at Elsinore? Did Auntie Gertrude let Hamlet go to that theater camp in the Poconos? I miss everyone soooo much, but I'm having *so* much fun at Camp Virginwood! I'm writing this with huckleberry ink that we made this morning! The girls here are all really nice, especially my bunkmate Juliet. She's here all the way from Verona! She told me that tomorrow she's going to teach me how to make something called a French kiss, which is funny since she's from Italy. Maybe it's a new kind of cross-stitch!

I love the care package you sent me! The granny underpants are super comfy, and the Bible has come in really handy when I've had to stay inside. Yesterday I had a tummy ache from eating too many of the yummy "chastity cookies" you sent me from Dr. Columbo, so I missed swimming lesson day. That's okay, though. Who needs swimming when you've got a Bible and French kisses!

Love,
Ophelia
