Suburbs of Our Discontent

Monday morning: One kid home sick with potential flu (kick self for not paying someone off at the pediatrician's office to jump the H1N1 vaccine wait list--harder to do than scoring a prime birthday party slot at Planet Gymnastics); one stack of Shakespeare midterms to grade; and one Actors Shakespeare Project panel to prepare for tonight on taming the shrew.
Whenever the plague hit 17th-century London, the playhouses would close down. Please, oh, please don't shut down my kids' schools, Mr. and Mrs. Heads of Daycare Center/School. I promise I won't dope them up on Ibuprofen and send them in to infect others. See--look! I'm being a good mommy citizen. I can tame my inner shrew. I promise. For now.

  1. Awesome blog idea, ladies; may I suggest a "sharper than a serpent's tooth" feature, in which we commiserate about the ingratitude of our beloved offspring?!

  2. Fabulous idea, Dianne! If you can't bake 'em in a pie, at least you can blog about them.
